Sustainability is an issue of ever-growing importance in our society. MEISTERWERKE has now published its first sustainability report. In the online Sustainability Report 2021, the German family company outlines the goals it has already met, and describes the company’s future strate-gic positioning in regard to sustainability.

A new page has been created for the topic on the company website www.meisterwerke.com, which users can access via the menu option “Sustainability”.

From sustainable materials to employee development
“We have been practising our own version of sustainability for decades already,” remarked Managing Partner Guido Schulte. “In creating the re-port, we have purposefully put our environmental awareness and sus-tainable business model to the test and documented where we are right now and what we want to achieve through consistent further develop-ment in the areas of economy, ecology and society on behalf of our stakeholder groups.”

At MEISTERWERKE, aspects of sustainable business range from re-newable wood raw material as an integral part of the product, to efficient energy management in the company, to actively practising social re-sponsibility. With a mixture of textual information, charts and infographics, the online sustainability report clearly describes how sustainability factors can influence product and process innovations, the use of resources, and collaboration with partners along the entire value chain.

Next steps on the path to a sustainable future
This initial report has elevated the sustainable activities of the Westphali-an flooring manufacturer to a binding level – a direction that the company is determinedly pursuing, with the intention of publishing a comprehen-sive sustainability report according to specific criteria (GRI standards) every three years.
